You won't be bored at any time...
because in the near and far surroundings you will find many things to see and to do. Therefore we have arranged some tips for you.
Here in the centre of the countryside: Prien am Chiemsee, a recognised health resort. A place where you can find the sense of Life and Fun, for your Health and Wellness.
The pedestrian precinct is very inviting with selected Shops for your "Shopping" and many restaurants for your culinary delicacy. You can choose between Italian food or Mexican dishes together with a Cocktail on the roof terrace, or you can go for a normal "Kaffeehaus" or a traditional Restaurant and enjoy the specialities of freshly caught fish - and you can be sure that there are more than 30 sorts in the Bavarian sea.
Don´t forget the harbour in Prien, there you can take a boat for the Chiemsee-Schiffahrt to the isles and to 5 other places around the Chiemsee.
Sport
What about Surfing or sailing in the morning and rafting, dipping, Canyooing or Hydrospeed in the afternoon? Or what do you think about visiting Prienavera, which can give you every kind of wellness under a transparent roof with a view to the mountains and to the lake? No Problem. You can find every kind of Watersports only 3 Kilometers from the Fürstnerhof on the Chiemsee. |

If you prefer a solid floor under your feet, you can simply wander or do some Nordic Walking, otherwise you have the possibility to rent a bicycle and follow the path around the lake, through a protected landscape, where you will find many restaurants, which will invite you to make a break.And if you are going to visit us in Winter, then you will see that many areas for skiing or for cross-country skiing are close to our farm.
And for those who like watching sport, instead of doing it, there are many possibilities to see a lot of sails during the Regattas on the Chiemsee.
Culture
Who thinks that the city Prien is "only" a small holiday resort, is completely wrong, because here are activities which a big city could be jealous of.
The exhibition of Keith Haring or the presentations of the works from Andy Warhol are only two examples of the constantly chancing exhibitions in the rooms of the gallery in the old city-hall.
Open air stage
But Prien can offer also a lot of music. Udo Jürgens at the castle of Herrenchiemsee, operas like "Evita" or "Jedermann" from Hugo von Hofmannsthals, Open Air at the isle Herrenchiemsee, the "Falco-Show" and the original production from London-Musical-Theatre "Richard O´Briens Rocky Horror Show", rock concerts, disco and steamship-drives and so on, are only examples of the different programs for you.

There are a lot of festivals in the spring / summer time around the lakes and villages with music and fireworks.
A different stage is the "Chiemgauer Volkstheater", which was founded in the late twenties.
The theatre is well known beyond Germany because it is very close to the life of the people and the actors are very professional.
Art
Herrenchiemsee Already in the 7th century Benedictine monks and nuns settled down at the two idyllic isles "Herrenwörth" and "Frauenwörth". This was the start of the development of a place of cultural interest.
The Basic Constitutional Law of the Federal Republic of Germany was developed here in 1948. That was definitely not a coincidence.
It's not possible to say in one sentence what inspired poets, painters, politicians and many others over the centuries.
The monastery and the entrance-hall at the Fraueninsel are from the Carolingian, the castle of King Ludwig 2nd at the Herrenchiemsee, the rococo ceiling painting of the church in Prien of Johann Baptist Zimmermann, the frescos of the 13th century at the church in Urschalling, the gallery of the old city-hall that anticipated the artistically opulence once from the colony of artists at Frauenwörth.
You should also visit the renaissance palace of the Amerang, Kloster (Convent) Seeon, and last but not least the museum of local history in Prien.
Nature
We should not forget the most important thing.
The nature is the most attractive and precious part of the Chiemgau. The biological diversity of this region is colossal. There are 1300 species of plants and 300 species of birds at the grasses of the mountains, swamps and upland moors or at the waterside area.
Beneath there are rarely species like the "Moosjungfer" a dragonfly type or carnivorous plants at the upland moors.
There are about 30 different types of fish at the near lakes and all of them are very delicious to eat.
Tiroler AchenFor every nature lover we recommend a particular nature-guide.
Go for a boat trip to the delta of the Tiroler Ache. The delta is along the south-east bank of the Chiemsee. It´s the best preserved inland water delta in Central Europe with a corresponding relevance.
From the boot is the emission of the Chiemsee-glacier from the Chiemgauer alps impressive. The delta with slush, gravel and sand areas and the rootstocks on the ground, trees and branches brings you back to the primitive time.
